The
Oasis Varadero 1920 has changed hand about 3-4 times in the last
few years and that is clearly visible. The staff keeps changing
along with the managers and there really aren't any people at
the resort that know a lot about the place.
We
have stayed here three times already and because we have friends
there, most likely we will go back. If you are looking to spend
time in a very nice 4 star hotel, this may not be it, although
we seem to like it. If you have stayed in Varadero before - this
hotel comoares to the Brisas del Caribe or maybe to the Villa
Cuba.
It looks very nice, the rooms are great and it is very clean.
Also, it has a very beautiful private beach with lost of natural
shade (unlike most hotels in Varadero). It might be worth it to
pay up to 50.00 for guaranteed oceanview room.
The
food is about 3+ star and the service also about 3-3+. Other than
that, if it a nice place. I would say, if you are paying anything
less than 600.00 per person, you are getting a good deal.

The beaches are beautiful; however,
there is a rip tide near the rocks on either side of the beach,
with no warning-signs . It is definitely not safe for children
or elderly , especially people that are not strong swimmers.
This hotel had very poor quality service, very few employees spoke
English, and when we had problems they had very poor customer
service skills.
We traveled there with low expectations, and found that they were
not low enough. The food was very poor; we assumed that the service
would make up for it.
If you tip the maids they will make nice towel sculptures for
you the next morning, and sometimes leave more water for you in
your fridge.
The safe is 30 dollars a week to rent and laundry says it is free,
but it is not. Make sure you go to the pool area to get towels
right away at 8:30 am or you will not get a towel.
If you are going to do a tour, bring toys for kids in the poor
towns, do not give to people in hotel area, they are not appreciative.
We definitely do not recommend this hotel; we do have serious
safety concerns with the rip tide at the beach, and the dodgy
elevator. If you have to go be careful! It is 50/50 that you will
have a good trip. Good Luck !!!

| Hello! The
Bahia Principe was seriously a dream come true for me. I totally
did not expect to get what I got and it surpassed every hope that
I even had before I arrived. It was my first time going on a trip
with a friend and we had a blast the entire time! 14 days was
not enough to do everything that they had planned every day! The
resort was ALWAYS extremely clean, the staff were excellent and
the service outstanding!!!!!!!
It starts with the entertainment director, Noel,
does an outstanding job with all of the wonderful top-notch entertainers;
to the funny towel guy, Rasdel, who hands out the fresh clean
hot towels to guests and has a huge smile and a joke every time;
to our maid Beatriz who made a different towel decoration on my
bed every morning; to the waitresses Yorka and Ramira who were
right there knowing what you wanted to drink the second you sat
down for breakfast, lunch, or dinner; to the DJs at the disco
who play any song you request. They ALL were very happy and extremely
helpful. It is true that a lot of staff don't know english all
that well; however, after a few minutes they have you laughing
and understanding what they are trying to say. The food was gourmet
and you never had to wait for any drinks from the bartenders.
I have been to so many other islands around the Caribbean
- and the Bahia Principe in Varadero was definitely THE BEST.
Very safe, the people warm and friendly and nobody bugs you or
gets in your face - even in the market!!
I have convinced 6 other families to go, and we
are even going back this May for another two weeks!!! If you need
someone to go down for your review officially - I will be happy
to do it again!!!
Thanks a lot for reading!!

My boyfriend and I went to Bahia
Principe Varadero, in beginning of November. We had so much fun.
That was our first vacation, and we wanted it to be perfect. And
it was.
Our hotel was very nice. The staff in the hotel were so kind and
very friendly. Most of them don't speak English very well, but they
understand the basics. Our room was always spotless. I was worried
we would have bugs or some other insects, but there were none.
The food was absolutely the best. Weather wasn't so bad. It rained
almost every day. But it would rain just for an hour or two and
then the sun would come out, and it would be nice and sunny again.
The beach was gorgeous. Very clean, and water so nice and warm.
If I decide to go to Varadero again, I would definitely go to this
resort again.

The first day of our
holiday it rained all day, but after that the weather was fine.
We had a few drops of rain every night around 6:00-7:00 pm but
it was very sunny and beautiful during the day.
The beach was amazing and very private.
It didn't feel secluded and quiet, but it felt very safe beacause
it is only for guests of that hotel. Beach volleyball was great
and we ened up meeting some very nice people that we spent most
of our time with.
The food was also very nice and diffenerent
every day. Lobster, fish and a wholw bucnh od spaghetti and salads
every day for lunch and dinner (except lobster, wasn't served
every night).
I would go back to the Bahia Varadero
any time!! This vacation was very nice and cheap for sucha great
place.

I visited the Bahia
Principe only for a day while scavenging through Varadero.
The property was formerly owned by CLUB MED and rated a 5 star.
I have no idea why it was downgraded as it looks gorgeous right
now.
It is much nicer than most 4 star properties in the Varadero area,
but maybe not as nice as some luxury resorts (like the Paradisus,
Sandals.....) and for that reason not rated a 5 star.
The resort has and offers a few thing
that give it a plus over the other hotels
1.) It has its own private beach which is 1200 m long !!!!
2.) It has a kids club which starts at 2 years old (most hotels
are 4 and up)
3.) The upgrade for the suite is 25.00 USD per night
The suite is just like the standard
room with the exception of two things - the room is divided in
two and it has 3 twin beds or 1 queen in one room and 1 twin in
the other. Also, all suites are oceanview.
The hotel is very clean and the grounds
are full of trees and flo wers which make it look beautiful.
I noticed there was tons of sports
facilities around and there was a big group of young people playing
volleyball on the beach.
The crown seems to be mixed but more
on the young side (25-35) and I assume it would also be a good
place for singles.
The beach is gorgeous and very, very
clean.
I haven't tried any of the food at
the resort but I hope I will get some feedback from clients soon.
I was told by people at the resort that many have come here after
they stayed in the Club Med and are more satisfied now...after
Bahia took over and after all the renovations.
This resort is located right after
the Melia Varadero.
If I go back to Varadero again, I would love to visit this property.
