Tryp
Peninsula Varadero in Cuba
We
were there for a week. Beautiful resort with just as beautiful
beach.
There was no hotel but 2-3 floor villas. Every room was a suite
and was
quite big. Bathrooms were big too, and every bathroom had both
bathtub and
shower in it. We were on the 1st floor so there was no any bugs,
although
some people we met complained of bugs and insects in the basement
room.
There were some mosquitos at night so few times we had to use
a mosquito spray.
Beach was absolutely beautiful with lots of sporting activities
available. There was a tennis court too, along with a gym, sauna
etc.
There were babies club and kids club. They had beautiful pool
for both babies and
huge pool for older children with a nice slide.
Lots of activities for children with babysitting services available.
Our villa was directly on the beach, so that was great. There
was one buffet
restaurant available on the beach during lunch hour only. Also,
there was
main buffet restaurant at the entrance of resort, so it was quite
a walk for
us, but we didn't mind. There were 2 a la carte restaurants (Italian
and
International). Service was great there.
Only issue we had with this resort was a food. It was bland and
tasteless.
They would cook meat with literally no seasoning on it. I am not
a picky
eater but it was really difficult for me to find something good
to eat.
Eventually I would find something, but food was huge disappointment.
Snack
bar had terrible food and their fries smelled of fish. Drinks
in main buffet
would not be the same as in snack bar or beach bar. Example: If
you order
Banana Mama, you will get a different thing at the different place.
I could
never drink anything at a snack or beach bar. Same thing with
pool bar.
Pool was huge. We were there few times in the afternoon.
There was never any activities there (at least not when we were
there),
but it was nice and clean.
So, everything else was great. We had best cappuchinos every day
few times a
day. Overall, resort and beach were beautiful. Service was good
too.
The only problem we had was the food.
I would probably go back there because overall experience was
good.
Please
note that photo of construction is of resort beside this one,
but
there was no construction noise whatsoever.
